Hourly to Salary Calculator
Turn an hourly rate and your hours into yearly, monthly, fortnightly, weekly and daily pay.
What this tool does
An hourly to salary calculator converts an hourly rate into annual pay by multiplying the rate by hours per week and weeks per year. Enter the hourly rate, the hours you work each week and the weeks you work in a year, and it shows yearly, monthly, fortnightly, weekly and daily gross pay.
Multiplies your hourly rate by weekly hours and weeks per year to give the gross yearly pay, then divides it into monthly, fortnightly, weekly and daily figures.
Shows the number of hours you work in a year.
How to use it
- Choose a currency symbol if you want one.
- Enter your hourly rate.
- Enter your hours per week.
- Enter the weeks you work each year; use fewer than 52 for unpaid leave.
- Read the yearly figure and the breakdown.
Why use a hourly to salary calculator
Lets you set the weeks worked per year, so unpaid leave and part-year work are reflected instead of assuming 52. Job adverts quote salary and shifts quote hourly rates, so comparing offers means converting between them. The weeks-per-year setting matters: four unpaid weeks changes the yearly figure by about 8%.
Why we built it
We built this to let you set the weeks worked per year, so unpaid leave and part-year work are reflected instead of assuming 52 weeks. The hours calculator totals the hours worked, and the overtime pay calculator adds premium rates.

Who this tool is for
- Job seekers comparing an hourly offer with a salary
- Freelancers estimating annual income
- Part-year and seasonal workers
When to use it
- Comparing an hourly job with a salaried one.
- Planning a budget on an hourly wage.
- Negotiating a rate for contract or freelance work.
- Checking what a raise is worth in a year.
How it is calculated
Yearly pay = hourly rate × hours per week × weeks per year. Monthly is yearly ÷ 12, fortnightly is yearly ÷ (weeks ÷ 2), weekly is rate × hours, and daily assumes a five-day week.
Worked example: 20 an hour for 40 hours over 52 weeks is 41,600 a year, 3,466.67 a month and 800 a week.
These are gross figures before tax, social contributions and other deductions, so take-home pay will be lower.

Frequently asked questions
How do I convert an hourly rate to an annual salary?
Multiply the hourly rate by hours per week, then by weeks per year. 20 an hour for 40 hours for 52 weeks is 41,600.
How many weeks should I use?
Use 52 if you are paid for the whole year, or fewer to allow for unpaid leave, such as 48 for four unpaid weeks.
Is this before or after tax?
Before. It is gross pay, and take-home pay will be lower after tax and deductions.
How do I convert a salary to hourly?
Divide the yearly salary by weeks per year and by hours per week. 41,600 ÷ 52 ÷ 40 is 20 an hour.
Does it include overtime?
No. It applies one rate to all hours. Calculate overtime separately at its own rate.
