What this tool does

Choose a group, click the symbols you want, and they are added to the box at the cursor. Press Copy symbols and paste them into any document, message or form. Groups include arrows, math, currency, Greek letters, fractions, check marks, stars and box-drawing characters.

Shows a grid of plain Unicode symbols for each group.

Builds a string as you click and copies it to the clipboard.

How to use it

  1. Pick a group such as Arrows or Math.
  2. Click a symbol to add it to the box.
  3. Add more from any group, or edit the text in the box.
  4. Press Copy symbols and paste them where you need them.

Why use this tool

Groups about 400 symbols into fourteen sets (arrows, math, currency, Greek, punctuation, fractions, check marks and more) and lets you click several into one box and copy them together. Typing a degree sign, an arrow or a euro symbol means memorising keyboard shortcuts that differ between systems. A page of clickable symbols is quicker and works the same on every device.

Why we built it

We built the special characters picker to put arrows, math, currency and Greek symbols a click away, with no shortcuts to memorise. Find emoji with the random emoji generator and look up codes with the ASCII table.

Who this tool is for

  • Writers and students typing symbols
  • Social media users adding arrows and stars
  • Anyone who needs a degree sign or a euro symbol

When to use it

  • Adding arrows, check marks or stars to a document or post.
  • Writing math, units or fractions in plain text.
  • Typing currency signs and Greek letters.
  • Making a list with bullets and dividers.

How it works

Each button is a single Unicode character. Clicking inserts it into the box at the cursor, so you can build a line from several groups. Copying puts the whole box on the clipboard as plain text. Most modern fonts include these symbols, but a few rare ones may show as a box in apps with limited fonts.

Example: click ★ ★ ★ ☆ ☆ in Stars & shapes for a rating, then 3 × 5 = 15 ° C using Math signs, and copy them in one go.

If a symbol looks like an empty box after pasting, the app's font does not include it. Try a different symbol or font.
