What this tool does

Type or paste your text once and see it instantly converted into bold, italic, script, gothic, double-struck, bubble, small caps and monospace at the same time, with every other style this site supports available under one click. Every result is real Unicode text, not an image or a font, so it copies and pastes anywhere.

Converts your text into a curated set of the most popular fancy Unicode styles simultaneously, so you can compare them side by side instead of visiting a separate page per style.

Puts every other supported style - over a dozen more - one click away under 'Every other style', rather than splitting them across separate pages.

Reports which characters, if any, a given style couldn't represent, and explains why in plain English.

Draws bold, italic, script, monospace and double-struck from the Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols Unicode block, where each alphabet is laid out as one contiguous run of code points - the reason these particular styles render as true bold or italic weight on any device, rather than through a font or markup.

How to use it

  1. Type or paste your text.
  2. Scan the results and copy whichever style you want.
  3. Open 'Every other style' to see the rest.

Why use this generator

Special text styles are used for bios, usernames and captions, but each one has gaps and quirks. Seeing many styles at once lets you pick the one that works.

Why we built it

We built the fancy text generator to show a curated set of popular styles side by side so you can pick one at a glance. Explore single styles with the bold text generator, italic text generator and bubble text generator.

Why one page instead of twenty

Comparing styles side by side beats guessing which dedicated page has the one you want.

Most 'fancy text generator' tools show one style and make you guess its name before you even get there, or bounce between a dozen separate pages to compare options. This page runs your text through several of the most-used styles at once - bold, italic, script, gothic, double-struck, bubble, small caps and monospace - so you can see and copy the one you actually want immediately, with the rest of this site's full style library one click further down for anyone who wants to keep browsing.

Why a few styles have small, named gaps

Several of these Unicode ranges were never completed - each gap is a specific, documented hole, not a rendering bug.

Italic has no mathematical-italic lowercase h at all - Unicode unified it with the pre-existing Planck-constant symbol (h) instead, so italic text substitutes that exact character, which renders identically. Italic and bold italic also have no italic digit forms in Unicode, so numbers stay upright inside otherwise-italic text. Fraktur (gothic) is missing five capitals - C, H, I, R and Z - because those five were unified into the older Letterlike Symbols block years before the rest of Fraktur was encoded; this tool substitutes the correct Letterlike Symbols character automatically, so the word still looks complete. None of this is a bug in the conversion - it's the actual, permanent shape of these Unicode ranges, and any generator that never mentions it either hasn't tested every letter or is quietly substituting something else in its place.

Assumptions and limitations

Frequently asked questions

How do I make fancy text online for free?

Type or paste your text once and every style updates instantly - copy whichever one you want.

Which styles are shown by default?

Bold, italic, script, gothic (fraktur), double-struck, bubble, small caps and monospace - the styles people ask for most often. Every other style this site supports is available under 'Every other style'.

Is this a font, or real text?

Real Unicode text, not a font or an image. That's why it copies and pastes correctly into bios, usernames and comments that don't support custom fonts.

Will fancy text work on social media?

Usually in bios, posts and comments. Usernames are less reliable since some platforms restrict those to a limited character set.

Is my data uploaded anywhere?

No. Conversion happens entirely in your browser - nothing is sent to a server.

Why does the italic style show a slightly different lowercase h?

Unicode never assigned a mathematical-italic lowercase h - it was unified with the pre-existing Planck-constant symbol (h) instead. Italic text substitutes that exact character, which renders identically to the rest of the italic alphabet.

Why don't numbers turn italic?

There are no italic digit characters in Unicode at all, so italic and bold-italic text leave numbers upright rather than styling them incorrectly or skipping them.
